FAU Owls Hockey Club Ranked #2 in the First MyHockeyRankings

Understanding the Importance of MyHockeyRankings (MHR) in College Hockey South Postseason

As the postseason approaches, the MyHockeyRankings (MHR) emerge as a pivotal factor for every team in College Hockey South. These rankings, which encompass teams from South Florida to Quebec, play a vital role in determining which squads will earn coveted spots in the AAU National Championships held in early March.

Each division within the AAU has its specific rankings, and they significantly impact the tournament landscape. For Division 1, only the top 16 teams are granted invitations to compete at Nationals. Meanwhile, in Division 2, the top 20 teams will also secure their place at this prestigious event. Division 3 follows suit with its own criterion, allowing the top 16 teams the opportunity to partake in Nationals. Notably, in the Women’s division, due to the total number of participants, only four teams will qualify for the National Championship tournament.

In the latest MHR standings, all seven College Hockey South Division 1 teams have proudly secured positions within the top 16. In Division 2, nine College Hockey South teams have made it into the top 20, with Florida Atlantic University leading the pack at an impressive second place. Additionally, the rankings highlight six Division 3 College Hockey South teams among the top 16, including the newcomer from Division 3, South Carolina, which has made an impressive debut by landing in third place.

By understanding these rankings and their implications, teams can strategize effectively for the postseason, aiming for success at the national level.
