We head out to the Midwest for today’s QPW, as we will look at race 6 from Horseshoe Indianapolis. We have claiming horses that have never won two races lifetime going five and a half furlongs on the main track.
Horseshoe Indianapolis Race 6 – Claiming N2L
The 1 Cinco Magic (5/2 morning line) is favored in today’s race. He has run for higher claiming tags at Canterbury and Lone Star but runs at the same level and conditions as last time out. He will be best served being near the pace and take advantage of the rail trip.
The 9 Don’t Stop (7/2 ML) finished fourth at Horseshoe Indy last time out going six furlongs. He has tended to give way in his races the last few times out.
The 3 Gun Factor (8/1 ML) returns from a two month break after last being seen here at Horseshoe Indy. He also returns to the dirt today after two tries on the turf here at Indy and at Belterra in Cincinnati. He will need to get out of the gate quickly to win this race.
A longshot play is the 7 Candymaker (20/1 ML). He will be second race off of a layoff after an almost five-month layoff. He might be better suited for the turf but he will be running for the cheapest claiming tag in his five-race career.
Joe’s Pick
This is a race where you might have a hard time picking a winner. I’m going to swing for the fences with Candymaker with the second race off the layoff and class relief. Let’s call this 7-3-1-9 with a $20 play on the 7. Best of luck everyone!
