With the end of the college football season & all conference championships played, expert analysts have a good idea of who is staying put in college, who is entering the NFL Draft, and where they will be positioned in next month’s draft. Most of you know the household names in college football, but many of you don’t know the 3rd-7th round players who may not only fill out your favorite team’s roster, but will be impact players in the foreseeable future.
And since you asked for a cheat sheet to the 2024 NFL Draft test, I’m here to oblige. Over the next few days, weeks, & months, I will be releasing updated prospect ratings (especially after the combine and player’s Pro Day) for the top 75 players in college football, five players at a time. This way, it’s a steady dose of learning as opposed to cramming information, with no real retention of the material you just read.
As promised, here are the 2024 NFL Draft prospects, as I see them, rated #11-#15:
11. EDGE CHOP ROBINSON, PENN STATE Robinson:
Chop is the most twitched-up pass-rusher in the 2024 class. He’s still developing his pass-rush profile in terms of moves and counters, but his first-step explosiveness and speed-to-power abilities are rare. Those alone make him a first-round target.
12. CB KOOL-AID MCKINSTRY, ALABAMA:
McKinstry has shut down CB1 potential. For schemes that rely on more man coverage, he’s very comfortable playing in press and with his back to the ball. Plus, he has one of the highest forced incompletion totals in the country over the past two seasons.
13. EDGE JARED VERSE, FLORIDA STATE:
No player in college football has elevated their stock more over the past two seasons than Verse, who went from the FCS to a first-round talent. He’s a weight-room warrior who forces offensive linemen to use all their strength to stay in front of him.
14. CB NATE WIGGINS, CLEMSON:
Wiggins has legit ball skills and shutdown athletic abilities. He needs to be more consistent in run defense and with the overall strength parts of his game, but he might be at the top of the list of corners you’d want to tell, “Go make sure that receiver doesn’t catch the ball.”
15. EDGE DALLAS TURNER, ALABAMA:
Turner entered 2023 as one of the class’ best speed-rushing 3-4 outside linebackers. But this year, he looks like he has bulked up a bit to add new strength to his game and solidify his first-round status.
